How to crop a picture

How do I crop a picture?▼

Is my picture uploaded anywhere?▼
No. The cropping happens inside your browser and the picture never leaves your device. That makes it safe for photos of people, documents and ID.
How do I crop to an exact size in pixels?▼
Use the X, Y, Width and Height boxes under the picture. They show the frame in the original picture's pixels and you can type exact values. The result is cut from the original at its full resolution, with no resizing. To change the size afterwards, use the image resizer.
Which shapes are available?▼
Free (any shape), the original picture's shape, square 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 and 9:16, or your own custom ratio. Each platform has its own rules for pictures and they change over time, so check the platform's guidance if exact sizes matter.
Does cropping reduce quality?▼
Cropping itself does not. The part you keep is copied pixel for pixel. If you save as JPG or WebP there is the usual small loss from compression, controlled by the Quality slider, and PNG is lossless. Hidden data such as GPS location and camera details is not copied to the new file, and the picture is turned the right way up.
Can I crop many pictures to the same shape at once?▼
