PNG to JPG Converter
Turn PNG pictures into smaller JPG files. Pick the quality and the background colour for transparent areas. Nothing is uploaded.
Lower quality makes a smaller file. 80 to 90 looks the same to most eyes.
JPG cannot be transparent, so see-through areas are filled with this colour.
Leave one box empty and the other is worked out to keep the shape. Fill both and each picture is shrunk to fit inside that box without stretching.
Cuts the edges off every picture so they all share this shape. The middle of each picture is kept. To choose exactly what to keep, use the image cropper.
Quality is lowered first (never below 50%), then the picture is made smaller until it fits. PNG files can only be made smaller by shrinking the picture. Pictures that already fit are not reduced any further.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert a PNG to JPG?โผ
Drop your PNG files onto the box. JPG is already selected, so a single file is converted straight away. Press Download to save it, or add several PNGs and download them together as a ZIP.
Why convert PNG to JPG?โผ
JPG files are usually much smaller than PNG for photos and screenshots with lots of colour, often a fifth of the size or less. Smaller files upload faster, fit email attachment limits and load quicker on web pages. Many forms and apps also only accept JPG.
What happens to the transparent parts of my PNG?โผ
JPG cannot store transparency, so any see-through area has to be filled with a colour. White is the default, and you can switch to black or any colour you like. If you need to keep transparency, convert to WebP or leave the file as PNG.
How much quality will I lose?โผ
JPG compresses by discarding detail you are unlikely to notice. At the default 90% quality the difference is invisible for photos. Text, logos and sharp lines can show faint smudging at lower settings, so for those keep quality high or stay with PNG.
Will the picture get smaller in pixels?โผ
No. The width and height stay exactly the same. Only the file format and file size change. To change the pixel size as well, use the image resizer.
Is it safe to use with private pictures?โผ
Yes. The conversion runs in your browser, and the picture is never uploaded or stored. That makes it suitable for screenshots of accounts, scanned documents and personal photos.
