Quality is lowered first (never below 50%), then the picture is made smaller until it fits. PNG files can only be made smaller by shrinking the picture. Pictures that already fit are not reduced any further.

How do I convert a WebP image to PNG?▼
Drop your WebP files onto the box. PNG is selected by default, so the converted picture appears straight away. Press Download, or add several and download them all together as a ZIP.
Why do pictures I save from websites come out as WebP?▼
Many websites now serve WebP because the files are smaller, and your browser saves whatever it was given. WebP is fine for browsers but some programs, older editors and upload forms do not accept it, which is when you need PNG or JPG.
Does converting WebP to PNG keep transparency?▼
Yes. PNG supports transparency, so a WebP with a see-through background keeps it. If you convert to JPG instead, transparent areas are filled with a solid colour (white by default), because JPG cannot be transparent.
Should I pick PNG or JPG?▼
Pick PNG for logos, icons, screenshots and anything with transparency or sharp edges. Pick JPG for photos where you want the smallest file. You can switch with one click and compare the resulting sizes.
Can it convert animated WebP?▼
Only the first frame is converted. PNG and JPG are single-picture formats, so the animation cannot be kept.
Is my image uploaded?▼
